ABOUT THIS EPISODE
In this podcast, Scott Kirsner shares with us how he views today’s journalism, the impact and use of ChatGPT, innovation and the state of the Boston tech ecosystem and his hot takes on other topics.
Some of the questions posed and topics discussed include:
What is the state of journalism today?
How would you characterize the Boston-area’s technology ecosystem today?
Scott expressed concern about entrepreneurs leaving Boston/Massachusetts for other states in New England, Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico for tax relief and better weather. We discuss what is to be done.
Do you think that other community members are sufficiently engaged in the promotion of the Boston-area tech ecosystem?
What is the state of B2C (consumer) and B2B (enterprise customer) startups and funding in Massachusetts today? Scott believes that venture success has been realised more so in the life sciences, bio-tech and tough tech segments of technology -- and robotics and climate tech as well -- not so much in B2C and B2B software/SaaS/AI startups. Where will the next TicTok emerge?
What’s the role of art in your life?
And other questions and topics
Scott’s latest book is “Innovation Economy: True Stories of Start-Ups, Flame-Outs, and Inventing the Future in New England”. It’s available on Amazon. (Here)
