Trump allies have outlined an AI executive order, detailing the former president's AI strategy should he be reelected. The strategy, named "Make America First in AI," focuses on military development and reducing regulations. The proposed framework includes military-focused "Manhattan Projects" to boost US leadership in AI technology and aims to ease regulatory burdens on AI development.
According to the document viewed exclusively by The Washington Post (article here), the proposed framework also plans to establish “industry-led” agencies to evaluate AI models and protect systems from foreign adversaries. Employees from the America First Policy Institute, a nonprofit organization led by Trump’s former chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow and other ex-Trump officials, have been involved in drafting the executive order.
